EXPEDITION LOGISTICS

THINGS TO KNOW WHEN PLANNING YOUR TRIP

This information is to help you confidently book your travel dates and make plans for pre and post Expedition.

12 Day Expeditions

Arrival: Sunday 6pm

The expedition starts Sunday evening. Be to the hotel by before 6pm in order to be at the kick-off dinner on time.

Ride Days: 11.

The motorcycles will be picked up Monday and returned the following Thursday. We will return to our hotel and enjoy our final dinner as a team.

Departure: Friday morning is the earliest you can fly out.

You MUST be there on Sunday at the latest for our 6pm Kick Off Dinner.

Departure: Friday

We return bikes the following Thursday (11 days later) and have our final dinner that evening.

The EARLIEST you can fly out is the following Friday morning.

9 Day Expeditions

Arrival: Friday 6pm

The expedition starts Friday evening. Be to the hotel by before 6pm in order to be at the kick-off dinner on time.

Ride Days: 7.

The motorcycles will be picked up Saturday and returned the following Friday. We will return to our hotel and enjoy our final dinner as a team.

Departure: Saturday morning

The EARLIEST you can fly out is Saturday morning.

WeRoam Dime

The WeRoam dime begins on:

- Sunday night for 12 day expeditions or

-Friday night for 9 day expeditions

This includes the kick off dinner and that nights accommodations.

We will cover the final dinner and accommodations on the last night:

-Thursday night for 12 day expeditions or

-Friday night for 9 day expeditions.

Come the following morning, the WeRoam dime is closed.

The WeRoam dime covers all meals, water, accommodation, bike rental, bike parts within reason, fuel, and planned activities. We are NOT responsible for any damages done to your self or your bike. Learn more about the additional costs HERE.

We have a whole section on gear. HERE is the templated packing list. It may be revised/edited by your leader as needed closer to your departure date or as planning progresses.

Health Choices

When it comes to your safety and health, WeRoam has a strict policy that any decision you make regarding either of those is YOUR responsibility.

Team Comms

  • PRE: We do all team communication on Slack. Make sure you're in your teams private channel HERE.

  • PRE: We have 4 team calls leading up to the expedition. We highly recommend joining these meetings.

  • PRE: One week out, we'll switch to WhatsApp

  • DURING: Riders SHOULD be on a Cardo to improve team safety. Get your discount HERE

Cost Savings Suggestions

  • Connect with your team via Slack to share accommodations pre/post, reducing hotel costs

  • Use WeRoam links to purchase Cardo's or other gear

  • Use our #used-gear slack channel to purchase second hand gear from other members

  • Set up a Google Flight tracker to watch for trends on costs and to be notified when prices drop

Planning Timeline

Expeditions are planned 6 months out. This is when we'll start providing information regarding where you'll be flying in and out of, first night hotel, bike size, more specifics on terrain, weather trends related to elevation, etc. This information will be share on your Team Calls once you're 6 months out.

Remember, we do not share our routes with you before we go. Each dinner, we'll share the next day. It's your leaders job to plan and your job to soak it all in!

Additional FAQ

  • We will be sending you and intake form when we're 3 months out. Once everyone fills it, we'll send everyone a 50L Mosko Bag with straps.

  • We will bring you a customized jersey

  • We try to set up accommodations so we can do laundry every 4 days max. So plan for that vs packing for 11 days

  • We will disclose if camping is the accommodation when you sign up for the expedition. Otherwise it's hotels, hostels, and AirBnB's

  • We recommend coming to any expedition in good physical shape. We share our standards and a training program HERE.

  • We CANNOT guarantee meeting any dietary needs. So if you have allergies or preferences, make sure you pack and prepare for that.

  • Team calls are not mandatory but HIGHLY recommended. Find your team call HERE
