Slack is our members only communication channel. It's where we connect with one another, share updates, have private channels for expedition teams and more.
When you join our Slack channel, please make your name as First Name | City You Live In. This helps us see who is where so we can connect to those close to us.
Slack is available as an app on your phone so check out your app store to download.
Once you're in Slack, you will automatically be entered into our #general channel. This is where we update everyone on club happenings, meeting reminders etc. The #general channel is an "open"channel, accessible by everyone. Some other "open" channels are #used-gear, #bunk-a-biker, #events and more.
Take some time to browse through all the channels and please, DON'T BE A STRANGER. Say hi, share, and connect. Everyone who joins WeRoam tells us they wish they knew more women like them and guess what? They're here! So get involved. Any channel that starts with # is open for anyone to join while any displaying a lock icon are private.
TEAM CHANNELS
Each expedition team has its own Slack channel, managed by the team leader. This is the place to ask any team-specific questions (seriously—don’t be shy!). It’s also a great space to connect with your teammates, share arrival plans, coordinate early/late travel, or just drop in with general excitement and ridiculousness.
We’ve built a full WeRoam Member Resource Library to answer most common questions, but if something isn’t clear, your team channel is the best place to ask. Moving forward, your expedition leader will be your main point of contact for expedition-related details. That said, our internal team is always available if you’d like to connect directly.
You’ll need to be added to your team channel by the admin. If you’re not yet in your channel, please email [email protected] and she’ll get you set up.
PRIVATE CHATS
If you want to take a conversation out of the group to make plans etc, you can start a private chat with anyone in the club. Under direct messages is where you do that. When you hover over direct messages, a plus sign populates on the right hand side. Click that and type in the name of the person you're looking to connect with privately.

When you become a member, you will get a onboarding emailing welcoming you to the club. In the email, you will be provided with a link to join our Slack channel. In case you missed it, you can request to join HERE. Slack is available as an app on your phone so check out your app store to download.

Your leader will be your point of contact for most things regarding your expedition moving forward. Having said that, our internal team is always available if you'd like to speak with us.
